There’s No Better Way to Say “I’ll Be There for You” than with an Estate Plan

Compliments of Bier Law · February 1, 2024 ·

Matthew Perry died at the end of 2023. While it seems unlikely that Matthew’s estate will end up embroiled in a court battle as we see with other celebrity estates, that doesn’t mean that we can’t learn anything from his death and Estate Plan. Read on to learn more.

What “Sue,” the Tyrannosaurus Rex Skeleton, Teaches us about Estate Planning

As the Baby Boomer Generation retires and eventually dies, the greatest transfer of wealth will occur and according to many sources, it will dwarf any prior wealth transfer. This transfer gives those anticipated to inherit the wealth a great opportunity to open the lines of communication with their families to plan for the shift that has already started. Read on to learn more.

The Joy in Joint Trusts

Compliments of Bier Law · May 31, 2023 ·

Joint trusts offer clients many benefits both during life and after death. Those with joint trusts need to understand the limitations inherent in the trust and the importance of seeking qualified counsel upon the death of the first spouse to ensure that the trust administration runs smoothly. A recent Michigan case highlights what happens when the surviving spouse fails to do that or simply ignores the terms of the trust altogether. Read on to learn more.
